Volunteering

The Barnes towpath and Beverley Brook can sometimes be used as a dumping ground by less scrupulous individuals. As well as spoiling the natural beauty of these places, littering can also cause hazards to local wildlife.

Friends of Barnes Common organises volunteer work on the Common, campaigns on issues which affect it and seeks to enhance the biodiversity and amenity value for everyone's benefit. None of this just happens — we need your help!

The Barnes Green Centre in Church Road, just next to the pond, provides fantastic facilities for the elderly both from Age Concern and also from FiSH a local voluntary group.

If you would like to tackle a spot of litter picking , litter picks and council bags can be obtained from David Sharp 8748 0049 or Pamela Foster 8878 8896
