Part of the Barnes Music Festival.
A rare opportunity to hear Wesley’s famous Organ Duet, a landmark in English organ music, alongside the also rarely heard yet magnificent and characteristic Organ Sonatas by Elgar. The second of these is in fact an arrangement by Sir Ivor Atkins of the composer’s Severn Suite, which prompted the inclusion of the arrangement of the now also rarely played gem by Delius, another of our featured composers this year.
Andrew Charity is Musical Director of New London Opera Players and was Conductor of the Barnes Choir until he handed over the baton in 2013 to Julian Collings. Julian has performed extensively as a recitalist in the UK and overseas and is also Musical Director of Ad Libitum, of the Contempo Ensemble and of Singingworks.
