In this exciting one-week workshop students will have the opportunity to work on multiple facets of still-life painting along with the instructor. We will begin by discussing what makes for a successful still-life setup and proceed to guiding you in composing your own. We will then begin working on the drawing of the setup before continuing with the painting.

 

Additional design and setup concepts will be discussed throughout along with various painting styles and techniques such as scumbling, glazing, painting opaquely and impasto (thick painting).

 

As always emphasis will be placed on a good initial drawing and the end result should give students the confidence to replicate the process in any way they desire.
