Over 300 turn out for Barnes Ponder

Over 300 people came to the Barnes Ponder on Saturday 19 October to contribute their suggestions about what could make Barnes a better place to live, conduct business and visit. The outcomes of the day are currently being analysed and summarised for the community report back of the "Vision for Barnes" at 7.30pm on Tuesday 19 November at the Old Sorting Office.

As a preview the key themes include:

  • Retain Barnes’ distinctiveness
  • An active community preserving local amenity and quality of life
  • A vibrant local economy
  • Encouraging community cohesion
  • Community provision for young and old
  • Moving around Barnes
  • Focusing on the river
  • Linking the ‘green’ with the ‘blue’: enhancing the High Street
  • Events in Barnes
  • Community participation: delivering the Vision.

Come to the report back on 19 November to see how this will feed into the new "Vision for Barnes".

Everyone is welcome!
